Turn drinking glasses into side table vases
Buy two beautiful drinking glasses at a discount home store. Next, tie an ornate silk ribbon around the middle of each glass. Refurbish an old blanket chest
At a thrift store or garage sale, look for an old chest that opens at the top. Prime it with water-based primer then paint the chest in a color that matches your room. Create a matching wall pattern
Using the same floral stencil you used on your chest, paint the same flowers on your boring bedroom walls. You can create a line of flowers in the middle of the wall for a chair rail effect. Or cluster the flowers in groups for a more whimsical appeal.
Change the knobs on doors and furniture
To take the flower motif one step further, buy ceramic flower knobs at a discount online store. Replace the knobs on your nightstand, dresser or closet. And consider continuing this makeover in your master bathroom to bring harmony to your decor.
