January 27, 2012: Pinnacle Foods Group LLC issued a voluntary recall through the FDA of certain types of Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes after discovering that they may have come into indirect contact with foods containing soy, a common allergen. The company discovered that the products listed below were processed on equipment previously used to process other products containing the allergen and immediately issued the recall and warning. The danger is only to those who have allergies to soy, and are safe to eat by those who do not.

The voluntary recall and health safety warning is only for these specific products and does not apply to any other Aunt Jemima products from Pinnacle Foods Group. The recall includes those products listed above labeled with “Recommended Use by Dates” between November 1, 2011 up to and including October 16, 2012. The date can be found in a white box on the end of the carton. Consumers with soy allergies or sensitivities are directed to return the product to the store for a full refund.
Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes are a popular food consumed by millions of people every year. The announcement applies only to the Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes products listed above and does not include waffles, French toast, entrees, sandwiches, boxed pancake mixes and syrups. All other Aunt Jemima products are considered safe for those with allergies and sensitivities where marked.
