I had a heat stroke yesterday, what should i do to avoid it from happening again?
Q: I had a heat stroke yesterday.It wasn’t too severe,but I still feel sick.So I wanted to ask,should I workout?Because I can’t walk much,i start having the symptoms of heat stroke after a few minutes walk.And i’m on medicine too.I also wanted to ask,what should I do to avoid a heat stroke again?
A: Wearing light, long-sleeved shirts helps to protect your skin from direct exposure to the sun, and wide brimmed hats with vents do the same. Drink lots of fluids, in particular water. Not soda. Sports drinks may work depending on the ingredients; it needs to be mostly water. Don’t guzzle it down bottle after bottle, just drink a little more than usual. If the water is cold, all the better. Rest regularly, and avoid alcohol and caffeine, since they constrict blood vessels and trap heat. And above all, take rests whenever you feel tired or too hot.
