Why does the world make the deadly Mexican swine flu (H1N1) a big deal?
Q: It made some of my friends and relatives in Mexico and the U.S. dangerously sick. But it did not kill them.
A: LOL, the media has eased up a little, at first it was like the end of the world, but now they are assuring every one that we can live with it. Like any new flu, they talk about it a lot. But this flu has sicken so many in such a short amount of time. And now the Mexican media is not telling the number of death correctly, because the first day it made headline in my town, the number was 130 dead, then 150, then 275, and now suddenly it is only about 60 or something. This is not sounding right. But i understand that Mexico is experiencing some discrimination from other counties, so this is why they are not telling the right numbers. Edit; i the reason behind a fast number of deaths in Mexico is because the doctors really did not know what was going on, but now that they do, the numbers have totally slowed down. LOLIf the US has a high number in a matter of just 2 week, then imagine what the numbers are really in Mexico. Unless the nation wide shut down really made a big drop. I think that really made an effect, because Mexico is a little more relaxed now. However there is no need to be afraid to travel to Mexico now, because the flu is here to stay world wide. Just do what you can to stay healthy, because sometime or another it will come our way no matter were we are in this world. So lets just relax and let it do its thing so we all can be immune to it like the other flu’s.All we can do is keep clean, and wash hands. LOL I will make sure to get all my vaccines and i will try to be the first in line for the new H1N1 vaccine.
Will getting swine flu now make you more resistant to a possible more deadly strain in the future?
Q: People who were exposed to a previous related strain of swine flu are more resistant to this strain. Following that logic in this pandameic might it be wise to catch swine flu in case the virus mutates slightly and becomes deadly in the next 50 years… What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
A: This is how vaccines work- they give you a much weaker strain, or a strain that does not affect humans so that you will have immunity or a less severe response to the disease. So technically, the vaccine should be fine. However, the strain can mutate enough times to make the original virus or vaccine almost void, so it’s best to get a new one each year. Not because they wear out, but because the disease mutates.saying this, I would not suggest consciously attempting to get the disease. 😉
