Q: I’m new to weight lifting/training and want to know how long I should continue after I start feeling a lot of muscle fatigue. I bought a resistance band workout system and it seems my muscles are tired a lot sooner than with standard machines or free weights.
A: Dude depending on your workout, do as much as you can. Stop only if some OTHER muscle hurts apart from the one(s) you’re working out. Set yourself a resonable goal in terms of reps and do that many. But if you are feeling really strained the next day give yourself a day or two gap from exercising that muscle.Make sure you’re doing the exercise correct, that is the most important thing about weight training.And of course, with a resistance band, the resistance is probably more than the wieght you are using on machines.

When you lift a weight that’s either at your limit of what you can lift or at the limit of the amount of TIMES you can lift it, you better stimulate all the muscle strands and support muscles. This is great for muscle building because there is more rebuilding done.One drawback is you must have strict form and careful movement because lifting to fatigue/failure and/or using maximum weight has a much higher chance of injury to the muscle, joints, tendons, and ligaments.
Do you have to push yourself to muscle fatigue everytime you do ab exercises to see results?
Q: I do about 3 sets of 15 situps on my rubber ball extended all the way back before coming up getting full motion. However, I’m giving it about 75% on my effort to muscle fatigue. Is that good enough or do you absolutely have to do them until you can’t do anymore on each set you do?
A: If you are doing 3 sets of 15 everyday you should see a difference in about a month. When I first started martial arts the instructor had me do 100 sit ups all at once, three days later I could see my abs peeking through.
