Help Im coughing up this white mucus stuff, what is it?
Q: I randomly get these colds in which I cough up lot of mucus.Sometimes it last for a month and I’ll cough up what I find an alarming amount. I went to the doc on my boat and he just gives me Sudafed. But I feel like it could be something else other than the underway crud.I’m 25, I’ve smoked for 5 years, the coughing got bad enough its made quitting pretty easy this year. Also when I wake up sometimes I can hardly breath at all, until I cough of this stuff for like a half hour. yea, pretty gross.’m sure it linked with smoking but just trying to get some more opinions of what it might be here. Thank you.
A: Having a sinus cold (an example only) can sometimes cause this. However, I would recommend getting an opinion from an ear, nose, and throat specialist as well to see what they think could be going on.

A: Yep it’s normal. The vagina is self-cleaning and some girls do produce more than others and some every day. Different Types of Discharge:White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.Clear and stretchy: This is “fertile” mucous and means you are ovulating.Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: May happen right after periods, and is just “cleaning out” your vagina. Old blood looks brown. This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Different types of infections:Signs of yeast infections:White, cottage cheese-like discharge Swelling and pain around the vulva Intense itching Signs of bacterial vaginosis:A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap Itching or burning Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
