A: It depends on where the thrush is. Oral thrush is caused by a misbalance just like the other thrush. Gentian violet kicks oral thrushes butt big time. In Australia you can’t get it anymore and have to order it in from America because the active ingredient can be toxic in medium doses for small children, be warned though what ever the gentian violet touches will be stained purple and has to wear away so if it is oral thrush in your babby and you breast feed, look out….lol. If the thrush is the downstairs variety acidopholus powder from the chemist works a treat, it is pricey but you get a large quantity so it can be used for treatments later.
