Can i pop a blood-blister post wart treatment?
Q: After burning the wart with hydrogen peroxide, my wart has grown a giant blood filled lump the size of a jelly bean around it. In my other question someone mentioned that draining it is an option, it’s on the bend of my finger so I cannot bend my finger and I have another one on my foot, which causes me to limp. I was wondering what method can i use to safely drain this post wart burn, if possible. Also i would like to know if this is a safe thing to do only one day after treatment.
A: this is a little complicated, popping it can cause infection, but your chance of infection is higher if you pop it by harshly cutting or tearing it. or not cleaning it properly. so the real answer is “go see your doctor” ..but, if you really plan to do this (its better if you go to the doctor) just do it carefully .. sterilise a really sharp pin and try to just prick/scratch it, whatever seems best, and drain it slowly. use anti-bacterial ointment and keep it cleanthe fact that you have multiple warts and a burn from treatment, see a doctor if you can. simple pills or cream or something might stop it from happening
I swim; should i pop?
Q: i have a swim meet on thursday; and i also have a massive blood blister on my foot from walking home barefoot.I was just wondering if it would be safe to pop the blister so soon to the swim meet. Our althetic trainer said we should by fridaybut my mom who is also a docter said we shouldn’ti just want it gone.Plus on friday and saturday i have practice.then monday i have a meet again.Any suggestions???
A: It’s best to never pop a blister unless you’re in the middle of a long walk or marathon and have to go on walking or running. Don’t pop it for swimming, not on friday or any other time. Walking barefoot is fine but don’t overdo it, no need to get blisters. If you’re used to wearing shoes, switch gradually. I would get blisters if I wore shoes again. 🙂
