Should I trade Frank Gore & Brandon Marshall for Steve Smith (NYG) & Ryan Grant?
Q: I think I might be a little impatient with this one since I hear it’s the dreaded high ankle sprain, and that’s not good news for Frank Gore FF owners! He’s a Top 3 RB when healthy, but that’s the key – “WHEN HEALTHY.” I need a steady 3rd receiver and a consistent RB to take Gore’s place, just to be on the safe side. Steve Smith’s that guy (esp. as Eli Manning’s #1 WR), and Ryan Grant’s pretty consistent so far. Marshall got a TD against OAK, but we all know he’s in a strange system with Kyle Orton as his QB. Another thing I’m looking at: 4 of my receivers have a bye in Week 7 (Johnson, Burleson, Marshall, Walker), so I can’t afford losing points there, let alone Gore wasting a spot on my roster for 3+ weeks without a viable replacement. What are your thoughts? FYI: The best top ranked F/A RBs are Glen Coffee, Ricky Williams, Tim Hightower, an Cornell Buckhalter. For WRs, my choices are Johnny Knox, Devery Henderson, Pierre Garcon, Donald Brown, and Derrick Mason… not exactly consistency in any of these! Here’s my current roster for Week 4 before the trade:QB Kurt Warner (bye week)WR Calvin JohnsonWR Chad OchocincoWR Brandon MarshallRB Frank Gore (injured)RB Michael Turner (bye week)TE Greg OlsenDEF PittsburghK Mason CrosbyBN Ben RoethlisbergerBN Kellen WinslowBN Lee EvansBN Nate BurlesonBN Mike Sims-WalkerBN Willie ParkerThe guy i’m trading with has this roster:QB Drew BreesWR Andre JohnsonWR Steve SmithWR Terrell OwnesRB Steven JacksonRB Ryan GrantTE John CarlsonDEF MinnesotaK Nick FolkBN Darren SprolesBN Thomas JonesBN Jericho CotcheryBN Reggie BushBN Eli ManningBN Donald Driver
A: no, even though frank gore is out for three weeks he is still a better option than ryan grant, san fran is a run heavy team while green bay leans on aaron rodgers shoulder most of the time. And brandon marshall and steve smith have the same value right now since it feels the chemistry is a little lost between them and there qb’s
should i take deangelo williams for frank gore?
Q: frank gore was just injured so someone offered me a trade for deangelo williams. idk if i should do it because idk if he will be good after the injury
A: Tell him to wait a week, if not, then don’t. Williams will give you points for next 2 weeks, while if you get Gore, you have to bench him till he’s ready. Think short term.
W1: Lineup Evaluation! I picked Frank Gore! (i am screwed)?
Q: Here is how my fantasy football team looks right now, I was number 9 out of 10 players. QB: Tom BradyRB: Frank GoreRB: Pierre ThomasRB/WR: LenDale WhiteWR: Greg JenningsWR: Vincent JacksonTE: Kellen WinslowDEF: SteelersK: Jason ElamBench:WR – Bernard BerrianRB – Donald BrownQB – David GarrardWR – Torry HoltRB – Tim HightowerWR – Bobby EngramRB – Sammy MorrisRB – Glen Coffee (in case Gore is injured)——So what do you guys think? should i swap any on my bench to my starting lineup for week 1?
A: I would start Hightower over Thomas week 1. I think Thomas is a little banged up. Not sure about whether he’s playing or not, but Hightower IS playing and is the starter.
