Is 98.3 deg body temperature reading considered fever?
Q: I am babysitting my 2 yr old niece right now and I dont know the exact thermometer reading for a childs fever?THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL YOUR QUICK RESPONSE. HAVE A NICE DAY!
A: The average human body temperature is around 98.6 degrees, I believe, so I don’t think that temp qualifies as a fever. If you think she’s ill, keep an eye on her and have her rest up some. Monitor her temperature every hour or so. If you note any large changes, or she has more physical signs of illness (ie chills, vomiting, etc)call her parents and/or a doctor.
If I have a temperature below 98.6, is that still considered a fever (or why do I feel feverish below 98.6)?
Q: I ask this question because of problems I seem to have with the regulation of my own core temperature. As a matter of fact, I often feel more “feverish”, with sweating and night sweats, when my temp is below 98.6.
A: It’s ok to have a lower temp. But the night sweats concern me. Have you been to the dr.? Do you have any other symptoms, such as slight tremor of arms and legs? Losing weight?Being tired all the time? if you have these symptoms you could have a thyriod problem. If the sweats are accompanied with cough it could be TB. You really need to go to the Dr.
