102 fever dangerous (adult)?
Q: 23/female fever-like symptoms include headache, sore throat and cough, eyes feel swollen but don’t look swollen, fatigue, and mild dizzy spells.Fever began late Sunday night – I felt fine this morning/afternoon but towards the end of the night I started feeling a little ill. I took my temperature – I guess I have a mild fever. I plan on visitint the medical aid unit tomorrow morning. Is this dangerous? Do I need to stay home from work? I really do feel fine, but my temperature tells me that I am not. Thanks in advance!
A: You should definitely stay home from work. A fever is a sign that something is wrong with your body — even if you feel fine, you’re still sick, and you should stay home and away from other people until you know what is causing it! You don’t want to pass on a potentially contagious virus to your friends and co-workers.See a doctor or health care provider as soon as you can. Until then, rest up, take it easy, and drink lots of water and other fluids. Stay inside. Try taking some aspirin or motrin to keep your temperature down until you can get to a doctor.I hope that helped!

1 YR OLD had had fever of 102 for 3 days- how dangerous is that?
Q: he has an ear infection and started antibotics today, but after 2 doses he still has a fever! We are worried that it is still around 102. Is this dangerous? When should the antibotics kick in?
A: Call the Hospital and have ur Doc paged then tell them that he’s had two doses and still has a fever…more than likely they will tell you to keep an eye on it and if its not down by in the morning or if it goes up high to bring him to the emergency room. Meanwhile give him some Childrens Tylenol ( i wouldn’t recommend Motrin for at least another year).
