A: New Zealand.Out of more countries than I can count without taking my shoes off and unzipping my pants, far and away it’s been the most friendly place I’ve ever been. The scenery is beautiful, the people are incredibly friendly, and all the traffic jams I managed to get into seemed to involve sheep rather than cars.We didn’t have to worry about picking up a hitchhiker to help push when the chains supplied by the rental car company were defective. Every time I got on a lift, I was offered a drink from a flask, a beer from a back pack, or a cigarette, and the ski rental shop was rather reasonable about the scars I left in the skis by wearing them all the way into the parking lot.I could live on roast New Zealand lamb with potatoes and parsnips for the rest of my life. Every time I checked into even a night stop motel, I was given a quart of unsepperated milk in a glass jar; pure cream is so good on your cereal in the morning.Within a day, if I can afford it, I can go from snowboarding to wakeboarding or surfing. I can eat inexpensively, and best of all, DB Lager is readily available.JT
