Honestly, I suggest thinking more about getting your flu vaccine every year. Yes, the H1N1 might be a good investment but more people die every year from the actual flu virus then EVER reported about swine flu. And those who did die from th…

If I already had a verified swine flu case, do I still need the vaccine?
Q: So, apparently I caught the oh-so dreaded H1N1 flu last week (verified by my doctor, he ran some test for it) and while it sucked to have it, thanks to my wonderfully large lung capacity it didn’t make my asthma any worse. But do I still need the vaccine? I mean, if I already overcame it, it means I’m immune for this year, right? I’m still getting a seasonal flu shot, but do I actually need the specific H1N1 vaccination?
A: No.once you have been infected with a virus once, you become immune to that strain. if you have confirmed that you were infected with h1n1 then you don’t have to have the vaccine.
Can you get flu symptoms from the flu shot?
Q: Yesterday I recieved the flu shot today I am exhausted and have a pretty bad cough. Could it be because of the flu shot? Also please don’t tell me that I have swine flu becuase I have already had it and from what I’ve heard you can’t catch it again.
A: The flu shot takes up to 2 weeks to produce immunity from the influenza strains in the vaccine. You can already have the flu or you can catch it before that two weeks is up. The shot lasts about 6 months, so you can also catch the flu after the immunity wears off. That said, the shot kicks your immune system up a notch. For many people, the increased immune response will produce mild upper respiratory symptoms and an achy feeling. It is not the flu and will disappear in a day or so.The flu, if you have it, will last a week or more.
A question a lot of people may want to know: Will getting a Flu shot protect against the new Swine Flu?
Q: I have heard from a nurse that if you get a Flu shot, you won’t NOT get sick if you catch it, but you will be more likely to survive. This was during the bird Flu fiasco. So I’m wondering, since this strain seems to be even MORE complex, does anyone WHO IS QUALIFIED think that gettting a Flu shot will raise the chances of survival upon the off-chance that person gets infected? I have heard there are also Flu shots that are “multi-strain,” or provide more coverage from more types of Influenza. Is this true? And if so, would that be better?I’ve already gotten my shot this season. So would I not be able to get a “booster” since I’m absolutely terrified that this is going to turn into a pandemic. I’m trying not to be pessimistic, but honestly, it’s better safe than sorry! Thanks
A: No. And there is a new strain found in Texas that they have no source of how these people got it. Countries are banning travel to North America. Canada has cases, so does San Diego, San Antonio, Texas, Kansas, Ohio, NYC, and when will it end? It is spreading among the healthy, 20 to 40 yr olds besides teens. When it is easily spread from a sneeze, touching the same sink, stepping in spit, even being in the same room, is very scarey–countries are banning also imports of pork. Already WHO is gearing up as this will be a pandemic. Washing hands with hot water, washing fruit and veggies before storing them. Taking shoes off before going into house. Wearing masks in subways, buses, etc. Even if some get it, the drugs have horrible side effects, including heart failure, kidney failure, suicide feelings, etc. I don’t see a shot coming soon when new strains are popping up.
