The Top Ten Chicago Bears Quarterbacks

I was born in 1978 in Evergreen Park, Il, which is also the hometown of The Unabomber, and in my lifetime as a Chicago Bears fan they have had two legitimate quarterbacks, Jim McMahon and their current signal caller Jay Cutler. Two good QB’s in 33-years is a bad stretch for any team but the Bears have managed to stay competitive and relevant despite a revolving doors of less than stellar signal callers.

To develop a list of Ten Best Chicago Bears Quarterbacks is an almost futile task but I am boundless in my love of the Monsters of the Midway. What follows is my attempt to name their ten best signal callers.

1. Sid Luckman: (1939-1950) A five time All-Pro that owns the record for most touchdown passes in a game, with seven. A member of both NFL 1940s All-Decade Team and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

2. Jay Cutler: (2009-Current)Is the only Bears quarterback to have consecutive season with more than 3,000-yards passing.

3. Jim McMahon: (1982-1988) A one-time Pro Bowl selection and the 1982 UPI NFL-NFC Rookie of the Year. He was at the helm of the Bears offense during their 1985 Super Bowl season.

4. Johnny Lujack: (1948-1951) Lujack was selected to a pair of Pro Bowls while with the Bears.

5. Ed Brown: (1954-1961) A two-time Pro Bowl selection during his tenure with the Bears.

6. Bill Wade: (1961-1966) An All-Pro selection in 1963 and led the Bears to an NFL championship in the same season.
