The Five Craziest Snowboarding Videos

Even non-snowboarders know that the sport has produced many awe-inspiring and wild situations. If you want to watch some of these incredible moments, check out my list of the five craziest snowboarding videos ever made.

5. A Costly Fall

I’ve seen some strange snowboarding videos before, but this one might be the weirdest. As Dan Csokonay falls while competing in the Slopestyle event at the Winter X Games 15, his wallet comes flying loose. Luckily for him, he got it back, so the only thing he lost was his pride.

4. Kokubo Gets Huge Distance

In this clip, Japanese snowboarder Kazuhiro Kokubo does a frontside 900 tailgrab while jumping an amazing 57 meters, which is well over half a football field. This was shot in Hemsedal, Norway for the snowboarding video Draw the Line

3. Torstein’s Triple Cork

Torstein Horgmo must be a madman. Despite recently suffering a broken rib and a concussion, the Norwegian went for a triple cork at the Winter X Games XV Big Air event. As you can see in the video, he just barely pulled it off, and proceeded to win the gold. Just don’t expect him to try it again any time soon; he called his trick the “stupidest thing” he’d ever done in his life.

2. Extreme Snowboarding With Jeremy Jones

This is one of the craziest videos I’ve seen in snowboarding, or for that matter, any sport. As he zips down a 10 foot wide shoot while going 60 mph, pro boarder Jeremy Jones proves why he’s one of the top big mountain freeriders.

1. “The Flying Tomato” Does It Again

Appropriately, the great Shaun White finds himself on the top of this list with this footage from the 2011 Winter X Games SuperPipe. The whole run is incredible, but he reaches superhuman-status when he pulls off a Double McTwist 1260. White earned a 97.33 on the run, and he would win the event for an unprecedented fourth straight year.
