Powis Announces Game-Changing Update to ICase

If you are one of the lucky owners of an actual iPad (as opposed to just an eNotebook), then you, like many other people, probably like it. A lot. But, you’ve probably also discovered something else about your cool little gadget. It’s hard to hold. Sure, it seems easy to hold when you first place it in your hands, its thin and light after all. But after awhile, you find you’d like to be able to keep looking at what’s going on with what’s happing on-screen, but with your hands free. To address that, many users find themselves trying to rig something up; stacking books behind it while wedging the front with a pencil eraser, etc. Or, like many you’ve likely tried one or more of the gadgets designed to hold your gadget for you; one of the most popular combines both holding your iPod for you, and serving as a protective case. It’s called the iCase, and while the first iteration was very popular, the second is likely to take over the genre completely. This is because the new iCase, is customizable.

Consider Brad Moon’s observations in Wired’s Geek Dad section. He’s not just sold on the product, he’s glued to it because his family has made it a de facto standard. And this is because Powis, the company that makes the iCase, has set up a web site that allows for the purchase of an iCase, that is emblazoned with a custom photograph of your choosing, or any other type of image for that matter.

According to company info on the site, you can import a photo or other image, or work with images that you get from the site.

This means you can make your iCase look like something that has meaning to you, which really, is what a case for something as cool as an iPad should have. Thus, now you can go out into the world safe and secure in the knowledge that not only do you have a cool iPad, but a cool case to keep it in. And then, when you want to actually use it, you can unfold the little bracket, set your iPad on a nice smooth surface, and get on with your business, because, at least according to Moon, it’s sturdy enough so that when you poke on the screen to move to where you want to be, you won’t worry that the whole works will come crashing down, ruining both your experience, and your expensive toy.
