Personal Best Movie of 2011 Thus Far: The Rise of the Planet of the Apes!

One of the best movies of the year is The Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The movie is the prelude to the Planet of the Apes. It Takes place in San Francisco with a lab scientist by the name of Will Rodman who was trying to come up with a formula called ALZ-112 to cure Alzheimer’s disease. The reason he wanted to was to help his father that was diagnosed with the incurable disease. They began testing on apes from Africa to help the study. They tested all they apes and of all of them there was one that stood out to them. They named the ape Bright Eyes because of the bright green color in the eyes that a chemical in the formula produces. They eventually wanted to show the ape off to other representatives to get approval to test on humans, but she was highly resistant and began trying to escape after she saw they were trying to put her down with a tranquilizer. She eventually was killed because she became very hostile. The overseer of the entire operation who went by the name of Steven Jacobs ordered that all the other apes be put down and shut the entire operation down. After all the apes were put down Rodman was cleaning out the apes stall when he searched Bright Eyes stalled he found a young baby ape with the same colored eyes he was later named Caesar. They later found out that he had some of the formula in his DNA and was just as intelligent as his mother. Rodman ran studies and began a secretive test with his father which worked temporarily, but made the disease stronger over time. Rodman confessed to Jacobs about the studies and test and wanted to continue test. Caesar was captured because he was trying to protect Rodman’s father he was endangering himself by trying to drive someone else’s car. Caesar eventually helped all the other apes by escaping and gathering cans of the new improved ALZ-113. All the captive apes became intelligent and had the same green eyes. They all escaped and cause chaos in the city of San Francisco.

This movie was a fantastic film, From the action to the drama that was involved. Caesar was by far the most interesting character. I watched the film with my girlfriend and she absolutely adores apes and her reaction to most of the most was priceless one moment she high spirited hoping to get one at other moments she wanted to stop watching the movie all together. My experience watching was great and if they have a sequel I will be attending.

So if you have not seen this movie I recommend go and watching it or waiting until it comes out on blu-ray and watch it because it’s worthwhile.
