Pan Y Vino is Just What it Says

Tucked away in downtown Dunedin next to sister restaurant Casa Tina, Pan y Vino has the much sought after mix of great food and warm environment. Just as it advertises, bread and wine are their specialty — boasting a selective and delicious wine list and wood-fired pizza with fresh toppings.

To start, I recommend the minestrone soup or caprese salad. They are must haves for any foodie. The minestrone is rich with hearty vegetables and a generous portion of salt to make the soup really pop. The caprese is perfectly portioned with small chunks of mozzarella stacked neatly next to juicy slices of red tomato. Covered with a herb sauce, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, the caprese salad is a fresh start to your meal. All the pizzas are made fresh and fired to order. The wood-burning oven is in the dining room and is a great conversation discussion through the night. My favorite pizza was the Garden Pizza because the toppings change based on which vegetables are available. Everything was so fresh, it made the meal that much more delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their little slice of heaven. Our favorites were: Classic Margherita, Four Cheese and Posse’s Pesto Pie. The Cheddar and Chorizo was our least favorite, though still tasty. You can’t leave Pan y Vino without tasting the tiramisu. It was the absolute best tiramisu I have ever had (sorry Dad!).
