Amanda Knox isn’t “going to tell the truth anyway,” Nancy Grace says by way of explaining why she isn’t in line to gain the first interview with the convicted and acquitted murderess.
“I believe her original statement to the police – that she was there in the home when her roommate was murdered was true,” Grace told Access Hollywood. Meredith Kercher’s family have stated publicly in the past that they believed all three convicted in the murder of their loved one was guilty as well.
Public opinion may vary on the guilt or innocence of Amanda Knox, and even waiver back and forth based upon the trial verdict of the moment, but Grace, an avowed advocate for victims, says her mind is made up.
“I know the facts,” Grace said.
The CNN legal eagle from the “Nancy Grace” hit was asked to follow up her Dancing With the Stars workout by weighing in with Access Hollywood regarding the recently acquitted Amanda Knox.
“I was very disturbed,’ Grace said when she heard Knox had been acquitted of the brutal murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher, because she thinks it is ‘a huge miscarriage of justice.”
DWTS’ current contestant said that while she doesn’t think Amanda Knox wielded one of the alleged knives used to murder Meredith, she does believe the 24-year-old “egged on” her then-boyfriend Rafaelle Solliceto during the commission of the crime.
“I think she was there, with her boyfriend, and that he did the deed, and that she egged him on,” Grace concluded. When asked if she was seeking to land the coveted first interview with the girl who Donald Trump says could “be a star,” Grace made it clear she wasn’t.
“I’m not trying to get Amanda Knox’s first Interview. My show does not pay for interviews in any way. I absolutely would not stand to be on a show where we pay for guests for interviews,” Grace stated.
Headline News might not pay for interviews, but Nancy Grace said that isn’t the case, necessarily with others, “A lot of networks get around paying for interviews,” and they do it by saying they are “paying a licensing fee for a photograph.”
Regardless of who lands the first Amanda Knox interview, or how much people believe Amanda Knox is innocent due to the recent court procedure in Italy — or even if, as Donald Trump alludes (that Knox will become a “star”), Nancy Grace told Access Hollywood she believes Amanda Knox is still guilty because, “I happen to know the facts.”

On Jan. 31, 2014 the latest update in the Meredith Kercher murder case took a turn Amanda Knox supporters feared: a second trial with a complete new jury found the defendant guilty of killing her British roommate in 2007. They jury also felt the Washington state student should receive a greater sentence than previously received, giving her an additional two years and six months time to serve over her 26-year sentence in 2009.
A Knox appeal is imminent according to her attorney Ted Simon, with the case expected to continue to wind through the Italian justice system until Spring 2015.
