Lacking but Seeking: A Sestina

Wandering through the vast library; Seeking

The answers that are hidden
Among the dusty books; bundles of yellowed papers
On old wooden shelves that reminds of grand trees
Sunshine pouring in through the windows
Yet so dark, within the inside

The darkness that haunts the inside
Makes life a desperate seeking
For even a glimpse of light through the windows
Knowing, yet not seeing, something is hidden
Like looking for stars through foliage of trees
Or roaming in a room full of crumbled waste papers

Sifting through bundles of news papers
Reading; but not finding the answers inside
Feeling safe and secure like Bonsai trees
Fulfilling all needs without much seeking
Not stretching the roots; as nothing feels hidden
Yet longing for the sky outside the windows

Watching Christmas lights through the windows
Colorful life; glistening decorative papers
Memories of childhood; finding magical gifts hidden
Basking in the warmth of heart from the inside
The lost bliss that the soul is seeking
The togetherness under Christmas trees

Now, lonely in a crowd, like solitary trees
On mountain tops, being stared at through windows
Not knowing what is lacking; still seeking
Something meaningful, not blank papers
Maybe it is within self, in the inside
Where most precious dreams lay hidden

Happiness very near but is elusive and hidden
Like dewdrops on petals that adorn trees
Living in the present and having love inside
Not running after things that pass by windows
That is what matters; a smile, not papers
Giving fake promises; love for self is what you are seeking

The answers right inside, may be the ones hidden
It is like seeking flowers among leaves of trees
Life is outside the windows; not in libraries or papers
