Kenneth Cole Fall 2012 Clearance & Great Back-to-School Boots

With summer now drawn to a close, it’s a great time to hit sales and clearance prices in department stores, as well as online for shoes. The back-to-school rush is almost over, leaving a lot of left-over fall and winter boots at good prices, as well as being an excellent time to buy designer Flip Flops for your kids on clearance. According to foot experts, the flip flop is the worst shoe for your foot, and yet it’s the type of shoe that my kids wear most during the summer months. Knowing my kids’ feet are still growing and developing, and that they’re most active when school lets out, by investing just a little bit more on footwear for my children, I feel a little better about them wearing flip flops. Shoe design, structure, and support are usually better when you buy a more expensive shoe, and now that summer is over, it’s a great time to get great deals on designer summer shoes you couldn’t normally afford or wouldn’t budget for. Am I worried about my kids growing out of them before next summer? No, because I buy shoes a size or two bigger for them to be worn next Spring and Summer. Should my kids grow out of these shoes, I didn’t spend a fortune on them because they were bought on clearance, and they resell well at Kids Second Hand clothes shops, which generally welcome gently worn designer brands. I went out shopping, and bought flip flops for my son & daughter, and boots for my niece, which both they and I liked (a rare occurrence). Here is what we chose.

I wanted to find something classic in a flip flop that will go with everything and has good arch design, and Kenneth Cole’s Reaction Flip Flop is classic. These shoes are going to go with everything, and they don’t add the dingy appeal to an outfit that a standard flip flop does. Paired with khakis, print shorts, and capris, these flip flops dress up an outfit. It’s important that kids wear great shoes as their feet develop, especially while they are so active. These Kenneth Cole Reaction Flip Flops are ergonomic, have great traction, and are very durable and hold up well to wear-and-tear. With the great prices online right now, I actually bought a pair of each color, in black and brown (black for my son and brown for my daughter) knowing my kiddos will be back to school in not only sweet but safe flip flops, that will last into next season with their durability and classic style.

I like to send my kids to school in what they consider “style” whilst also keeping the practicality and functionality of what a boot is supposed to be in mind. So, trekking to the stores with that in mind, I was blown away by Kenneth Cole Reaction Kids Bid Air Well 2 boots. Have you seen the Dark Pewter Metallic? These boots are fresh, with a little bit of punk sensibility. When I had my seven-year-old niece try on a pair, and then directed her to run and jump around the store, the heels didn’t slip, and she said there wasn’t any pinching. I even have her trained to know what arch support is, and together we declared it ample. The Black Patent option in the same boot is cool and very apropos to wear with dresses to church or nice restaurants, besides going with everything.Whilst being easy to clean (just a wipe with a damp paper towel), and holding up well to rough-and-tumble leaf jumping and puddle splashing, this boot is well worth the money.

So, for this season, Kenneth Cole was the winner with my wallet, as well as with my kids, which fit their ideas of form and my ideas of function.
