As a Conservative, I welcome immigrants who migrate to America legally. Welcome to America, now speak English and get a job. To those who have migrated to America illegally I say, get out! Leave and don’t come back unless it is through our legal immigration system and take your anchor babies with you.
I know that is harsh, but it is what it is. We have immigration laws just like every other country, because like every other country immigration laws is for the purpose of controlling the population protecting our economy and citizens. No economy in any country can sustain a free flow of immigrants. Furthermore, countries need to know who they are letting in their country by performing background checks.
Since the United States Federal government is not enforcing the immigration laws, States like Arizona Alabama, South Carolina and Utah have passed their own strict immigration state laws and other States are considering to do the same thing. Washington however does not like it and are trying to overturn these States laws citing that their immigration laws are unconstitutional. Washington needs a serious enema. It got one in 2010 and will be getting it again in 2012.
Hypocritically, the President of Mexico slammed the Arizona immigration law while Mexico itself have similar laws and Mexico does use racial profiling. When in America the Pope said that America needs to embrace immigration, but because we do allow immigration he must have been speaking against our immigration laws. In that case then Italy should embrace immigration and drop their immigration laws and allow the free flow of people to flood the Vatican City since many are Catholic and then let’s see what tune the Pope would whistle.
The bottom line is that immigration laws are put in place for a reason and needs to be enforced. If the Federal government isn’t going to enforce the immigration laws then States as individuals need to do what the Federal government refuses to do and that is make and enforce their own immigration laws.
