Ideas for Enjoying Valentine’s Day 2012 on the Space Coast of Florida

Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday this year. In a year in which this romantic day does not fall on the weekend, the Valentine events may precede February 14th. On the Space Coast of Florida there are weekend events preceding Valentine’s Day, as well as dining out on the 14th. I have gathered a few ideas to consider in 2012.

FOR THE LOVE OF HISTORY STEP BACK INTO THE DAYS OF THE TITANIC

For those who want to partake in a bit of history as well as enjoy a great dinner plus a carriage ride, February 11, 2012 is your date day! Put on your best Victorian/Edwardian costume or formal attire, if you wish, and visit Titusville’s Historic Pritchard House at the Gardens Gazebo. 45 to 90 minute presentations will take place from 3 pm to 7 pm to spend an afternoon “Remembering the Titanic – Love, Life and Loss.” You can book your carriage ride and a romantic dinner following this. The Historic Pritchard House is located at 424 South Washington Ave., Titusville, Florida.

Contact Judy Underwood at 321 383-8115 for the Pritchard House Titanic performance reservations. Cost is $25.00 per person. Dine on a meal from the Titanic menu following the afternoon’s happenings, by reserving a dinner with Chef Larry who is preparing a meal from the Titanic menu to be served from 5 – 7 pm. Hurry to make the reservations for dining as only 36 reservations are available. Call Chef Larry’s Café at 321 368-9123. Arrange for a carriage ride through Horse Sister’s that will take you from Pritchard House to Chef Larry’s Café for $20.00 per person; or you can just drive your car there. Round Trip Carriage Ride reservations can be made through 321 591-1900.

You may dine in one of several dining rooms, or on the outdoor covered porch overlooking the Indian River. The Yellow Dog Café is located at 905 US #1 in Malabar, Florida. CURL UP WITH A CHICK-FLICK:
I recently saw on BHG.com that the some of the top all-time favorite chick flicks for a date with that special guy are When Harry Met Sally (1989), Pride & Prejudice (2005), Pretty Woman (1990), While You Were Sleeping (1995) and Sleepless in Seattle (1993). Grab the popcorn, pizza and beer or soda and curl up for an evening of movies to warm the hearts.

Enjoy your Valentine’s Day together.
