There are many different genres of music that people choose to listen to. There are reasons behind which type of music a person decides to listen to and it may be hard to understand. Since there are so many different types of music, I am only going to go through about 3 different types that express emotions from one person to another. These 3 types of music are rock, country, and hip-hop.
Rock music has been around for ages and there are many different popular bands that teenagers and young adults love to listen to. There are also many older bands that many adults like to listen to as well to express their emotions. There are some people who believe that rock music has to do with being Gothic and worshiping the devil and stuff but that is not true. My mother used to think the same thing until she started hearing some of the songs that were being played on the radio by bands such as Nickelback and Three Days Grace and she started to warm up to it. Most artists are going to make songs that sound very heavy and obnoxious but there are meanings behind the words in them that people can relate to when listening to it. That is where you will be able to tell what type of emotions a person is feeling is by the words in the songs. It expresses what is on their mind and if they can relate to what the song is trying to say, then most of the time they will like the song.
Country songs are in the same category. Some say that country songs are depressing and are always talking about a girl/boy leaving them and so on. This is sometimes true but what about a person who just got dumped? Doesn’t it make sense that they would be listening to depressing music trying to feel like they aren’t the only one in that boat? That is the way that most people cope with their feelings is by expressing their emotions through the type of music that they listen to.
Last, but not least, there is the hip-hop genre. There are a lot of songs that are out that express some of the same emotions as the rock and country songs do. This is not always true though because every song has a different meaning and a different melody. Most of the time when someone likes hip-hop music, it means that they are in a happy mood and that they want everyone to know it. I am not saying that this is the case with every song in this genre, but there are always parties going on and people love to dance and have a good time. There is always hip-hop music being played at most of the parties that I have personally been to and it makes the atmosphere fun to be in and also ensures that everyone has a good time and can dance their hearts out!
