Have You Ever Loved Someone

Have you ever loved someone,
who didn’t want to be loved?
As if it weren’t painful enough
that he didn’t love you back
but to add insult to injury
he is incapable of appreciating
the love you have for him
He does not,
cannot, will not recognize
your feelings and emotions
your desires to reach out and touch him
he is untouchable,
unreachable
but still you love him
he didn’t tell you not to
he didn’t think he had to
he’s unaware of your feelings
he’s never had them before
he’s never been in love
and he’s never been loved
or so he thinks
but just because he doesn’t want to be loved
doesn’t mean he hasn’t broken a million hearts
It doesn’t mean he doesn’t break yours
every single day.
