From Christianity to Wicca

I grew up in a Catholic household. I was raised Christian, because my parents had been excommunicated from the Catholic church due to divorce and remarriage. Today, I am Wiccan. I have been for roughly the last ten years of my life.

Growing up, my religion did not seem to have anything to do with what I believed. It had seemed to leave too many unanswered questions. I could not seem to get any information that would fit along with what I had felt. That is what had started my personal crusade to find out what exactly I believe in. I had spent several months trying to review every piece of literature that I could find on religions.

After about a year of searching, my roommate had introduced me into the belief known as Wicca. I found that Celtic Wicca had been very close to my own personal feelings and beliefs. I found that the more I read on the topic of Celtic Wicca, the more I wanted to know. After reading numerous pieces of information pertaining to Wicca and more specifically Celtic Wicca, I had found the belief that was right for me.

There was a downside to finding my belief and converting to it. I had to choose between my beliefs or my family. I chose my beliefs, because I feel that if my family really cared about me, they would never ask me to give up my beliefs. I have also dealt with religious discrimination on multiple occasions, but I tend to look at it as a way to teach others more about my beliefs.
