Fighting the Food Cravings!

So we have all tried a diet of some sort, at some point in our lives right? We have all had to deal with the daily struggle of food cravings, and it’s these food cravings that make many people lose faith and quit their weight loss plan.

When these food cravings come around, throwing in the towel is just the easy thing to do at that moment in time. However, in the long run, throwing in that towel for an easy life is doing more damage than not. This is where a little advice on how to fight these food cravings comes in handy.

By following these few steps you will have the tools to fight off these cravings and help you to lose the weight you want to lose.

Step 1 to fighting off the food cravings is to consume fewer carbohydrates in your daily diet. We’re not talking about eradicating carbohydrates from your diet entirely, just have them in moderation as they are the food group most likely to cause physical hunger sooner than you would have hoped after eating. Reducing your carbohydrate intake and eating them in moderation with a little protein allows you to remove the food cravings while in between meals.

Step 2 to fighting off the food cravings is to eat smaller portions but more often. As opposed to having 3 large meals each day, try reducing them to 5 smaller meals every 3 or 4 hours each day. This will increase your metabolism and keep your blood sugar levels at their norm. These 2 bodily functions are sure to suppress your hunger until your next small portioned healthy meal.

Step 3 to fighting off the food cravings is to eat more soup. Instead of having a large meal in a restaurant when out for dinner, next time order some soup for a starter which will then allow you to have a smaller main course. Or instead of having that sit down lunch each day, opt for a bowl of healthy soup with lots of chopped up vegetables. Eating soup allows you to reduce your hunger level and also literally shaves off hundreds of calories from your meal. Every little helps!

Step 4 to fighting off the food cravings is to drink green tea which is rich with antioxidants. Drinking green tea while you are hungry will block the food cravings in no time at all, while drinking one or two cups each day will also reduce your food cravings in the long run, all while boosting your metabolism which in turn burns fat and calories every day. Green tea can also assist your body in lowering your bad cholesterol and raising your good cholesterol which can help in preventing many health problems in the future.

Step 5 to fighting off the food cravings is to rest your body and recharge your batteries by enjoying a great sleep each night. A lack of sleep can increase your appetite the next day as your body will require the energy it usually gets from your sleep by other means, meaning food, and you will find yourself eating more. Therefore it is very important to get enough rest through the night when aiming to lose weight.

Just one of these 5 steps will assist you in fighting off the unwanted food cravings, do all 5 and you WILL get down to that weight you always hoped for.

Enjoy and good luck guys!!
