DALLAS COWBOY’S FAN SEASON JOURNAL ENTRY #9

Fresh off a bi-week, the Dallas Cowboys should be better. They have some of the players who have been injured back on the field. Miles Austin should make a really big impact in the game. The Patriots will have to keep a safety back to help on Austin, and that should make things better for Witten and Romo. Felix Jones should find a little more running room due to the safety being in coverage, and Dez Bryant should have some success against the number two cornerback on the Patriots defense. Put that together with the fact that the Patriots defense is not that good to begin with, the Cowboys and Romo should have a great day.

The Patriots are dead last in the league in yards given up, that is right dead last. Dead last in passing yards allowed, and 13Th in rushing yards allowed. The Cowboys have a chance to make up for giving games away to the Jets and Lions, by stealing one in Foxboro.

Romo, Witten, Austin, or Bryant could have a career game here, maybe more than one of them. Felix Jones could join them with a long run or two, once the Cowboys start spreading the field out. The screen pass the Cowboys used against the Lions to some good success, just might be a game breaking play this week.

On defense the Cowboys get some help back also, Orlando Scandrick is back this week, and the Cowboys will really need him. Tom Brady is on pace to break every yardage record ever. Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, and Aaron Hernandez are as good a receiving core as there is in the league if you go by the stats. Chad Ochocinco and Deion Branch, are just extra weapons at Brady’s disposal. A few short years ago they were both All-Pro.

Rob Ryan has had good success shutting down the Patriots in the past. Cleveland and Oakland always seemed to play them tough when Ryan was calling the defensive plays. I think this continues this week. Going by the results so far this season, I see no reason for it not too. One of the bright spots in the Cowboys season, has been the renewed swagger of the defense. Yes, there have been a few bad plays, but they are playing professional football players on the other teams also, if they were not good, they would not be on the field. The best baseball players in the majors fail 4 times out of ten.

The Cowboys should come home with a big win this week, but it will be a shootout. Somewhere in the area of 35 to 31 or higher. The Patriots are a good team, but they lack on defense. Going by results this year the Romo Coaster should be on the up swing this week.
