BCS Bowl Predictions; 2011-2012 National Championship Picks and More

Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio
Wisconsin(11-2) vs. Oregon(11-2)
Wisconsin was able to pull out a very close victory against Michigan State to advance to the Rose Bowl, while Oregon has a much easier route, defeating then 6-6 UCLA. Despite giving up an average of only 17 points per game, Wisconsin gave up 39 points to Michigan State. Oregon is able to move the ball on any defense, and is much more powerful than the team the Badgers saw in the Big 10 Championship Game. Russell Wilson will be able to score against Oregon, but I don’t think that Wisconsin will keep up with Oregon down the stretch.
Prediction: Oregon 45, Wisconsin 38

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl
Stanford(11-1) vs. Oklahoma State(11-1)
Oklahoma State scores an average of 49.3 ppg, good for second in the nation. Stanford’s defense has been shaky at times, giving up 48 points to USC and giving up 53 points to Oregon. Oklahoma State’s offense style reminds me of Oregon, who destroyed Stanford. Andrew Luck is brilliant, but I honestly don’t think he will keep up with the Cowboys in this game. The Cowboys have too much firepower and just enough defense.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 52, Stanford 35

Allstate Sugar Bowl
Michigan(10-2) vs. Virginia Tech(11-2)
Denard Robinson is possibly the most dangerous man in all of college football with 18 passing touchdowns and 16 rushing touchdowns along with over 1,100 yards rushing. Virginia always has a tough defense, but they will have no answer for Robinson. Virginia Tech’s best win this season was over Georgia Tech, while Michigan has beaten Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.
Prediction: Michigan 28, Virginia Tech 20

Discover Orange Bowl
West Virginia(9-3) vs. Clemson(10-3)
Tajh Boyd should be able to demolish the West Virginia defense during this game. West Virginia won the Big East crown in a down year, while Clemson beat #5 Virginia Tech in a blowout. Both teams have been vulnerable throughout the season, but judging each on their last game, it looks like Clemson is better prepared for this caliber of a game.
Prediction: Clemson 42, West Virginia 31

Allstate BCS National Championship Game
LSU(13-0) (-1, -115) vs. Alabama(11-1)
This rematch will be a fantastic game as both teams are strong on offense and defense. Don’t expect an all field goal game as their last contest was. Both teams had 2 turnovers and made critical mistakes when it counted. I expect Trent Richardson to have a big game and put the team on his shoulders in the 4th quarter. Don’t expect another LSU win, Alabama takes the National Championship.
Prediction: Alabama 20, LSU 17
