For Halloween 2011, the Spartanburg County Public Libraries are offering several “spook”tacular events for kids, tweens and teens to enjoy! Parents, if you are looking for safe and fun places for your children to celebrate this Halloween, look no further than the events I list below! Events are listed in date order. #1 Halloween Event- Teen Halloween Party and Scavenger Hunt
This event is for teens aged 12-18 or in grades 7-12 only.

Halloween treats along with some tricks can be found at this fun teen party. A Halloween-themed scavenger hunt will be held with lots of candy and prizes.
#2 Halloween Event– Tricks and Treats for Tweens (Grades 3-6)
Date and Time: Monday, Oct. 18, 2011 @ 5-6PM
Location: Landrum Library
These third through six graders will attempt some tricks and receive candy for their efforts. Snacks will also be provided!
#3 Halloween Event: Teen Halloween Party
This event is for teens in grades 7-12 only.
Date and Time: Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011@ 4-5PM
Location: Landrum Library
At this party there will be fellowship, games, and Halloween treats!
#4 Halloween Event: Fall Festival
Date and Time: Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 @ 6-7:30PM
Location: Cowpens Library
Attend this party in your Halloween costume and receive a prize! There will be face painting, games, and refreshments.
#5 Halloween Event: Tween Halloween Party (Grades 3-6)
Date and Time: Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 @ 4-6PM
Location: Inman Library
Come to this Halloween party and see the movie “Spooky Buddies,” have fun with friends and enjoy refreshments!
#6 Halloween Event: Teen Halloween Party
Date and Time: Friday, Oct. 21, 2011@ 4-5:30PM
Location: Westside Library
The 15 lucky people at this party will making Duct Tape Pumpkins, Have a Mad-Lib Contest, have some creepy treats and watch “The Creature from the Black Lagoon.”
#7 Halloween Event: Teen (Do-it-yourself) – Create your own Ghoul!
This event is for teens aged 12-18 or in grades 7-12 only.
Date and Time: Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 @ 4:30-5:30PM
Location: Spartanburg Public Library (Main Headquarters)
For an hour, teens will have fun decorating tiny vinyl ghouls as scary or as friendly as they wish! Materials will be available, but on a first -come, first- served basis, so get there early!
#8 Halloween Event: Halloween Bonanza (5th and 6th grade)
Date and Time: Monday, Oct. 24, 2011@ 4:30-5:30PM
Location: Middle Tyger River
Halloween costumes are welcomed at this Halloween Bonanza! Expect pumpkins, candy and fun!
#9 Halloween Event: Spooktacular Halloween Party
Date and Time: Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 @ 4:15-5:15PM
Location: Spartanburg Public Library (Main Headquarters)
Wear your costume and enjoy fun games, treats, and ghoulish prizes!
#10 Halloween Event: Teen Halloween Party (must reserve a spot)
This event is for teens in grades 7-12.
