On line friendships flourish in environments like Facebook, where I met my friend Ed. Together we’ve battled dragons in Castle Age, participated in an online reading group and have a slew of mutual friends. But now he seems to have disappeared and his wall is filled with people asking if he’s ok and wishing him well. This haiku is for Ed and all those people we care about but slip through the fabric of our lives.

We’re missing our Ed
Hoping he is safe and well
Come back to us soon.
Of course, I’m also praying for him and hope that he’s just busy. Perhaps in publishing this someone that knows him in person can let his on line friends know he’s ok. Despite the fact that we haven’t met in person, we do care about him and hope he’s ok.
