Simon Cowell Attacks Singing Superstars Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry

Simon Cowell has never been afraid to speak his mind, but his latest – and totally unfounded – swipe at popular celebrities could easily lead to people thinking that he is merely courting publicity for his new show, “The X Factor.” The music mogul has lashed out at Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Katy Perry, branding them all “boring.” He says that these three superstars are only interesting when you see them on screen, but that is most definitely not the case. Here is why he needs to take another listen.

Lady Gaga

Let’s be honest, a lot of Lady Gaga’s appeal does come from the fact that she has a quirky look, and you never really know what she will do next. Her outfit choices alone are quite fascinating. However, the British talent scout has obviously never really sat down and listened to her when she belts out an incredible song. Most recently, both “You and I,” and “Edge of Glory” have shown without a doubt that the girl can sing. Although her star quality is certainly enhanced by her odd dress sense, she would still be incredible if she chose never to appear on stage or screen again.

Beyonce

Any person who makes a dig at Beyonce really needs a reality check. B has one of the most recognizable voices in pop history, so how can that possibly be considered bland or boring? It’s not always easy for someone who was part of a group to step into the spotlight alone, but she did it with ease. Her voice is what makes her a star, and in no way is she dull to listen to.

Katy Perry

The “California Gurl” has made some of the most interesting pop music of recent years. Okay, none of it will go down in history as being lyrically profound but her tunes are fun. Just like the best artists, her voice is easy to set apart from others. Unfortunately, that is because it isn’t as strong as some voices, but it doesn’t make her bad to listen to. Next time you hear a Katy Perry song on the radio, watch and you will see that people can’t help tapping their feet and dancing along. Perry’s music can be enjoyed just as much without seeing her performing live.

Cowell’s latest comments about some of the world’s top stars have little merit to them. He might know music, but sometimes, he is just plain wrong.
