September

This is a poem about the month of September, from the author’s “Months of the Year” series of poems. Enjoy the feel of a warm September day!

September

If not for September,
summer could not linger.
Chill winds would claim gentle days,
leaving no chance to mourn;
to savor summer’s final flourish,
catching ones breath-
before turning to greet
the soulful splendor
of fall.
