Presidential 2012: Democrats, Incumbent Leading to Election

Having already written about the Republican Party runners for Presidency in 2012, I feel it is only fair to evaluate the Democratic incumbent as well. The events of this year have been extensive; indeed they try the Presidential office. But we should remember, upon taking the office, President Obama was remarked as saying he did not completely understand just how much work the President had to do. This indicated from the beginning he was not prepared for the duties of this office, when he arrived nor while campaigning the first time. Perhaps as he has had some “on the job training” he should show better preparations and abilities now. But the public is stating he has not; in fact there is less willingness to believe in his abilities the more time goes along.

President Obama took office under trying times, there was no time to adjust to conditions, he had to start at a fast pace and keep going. Concerns for the office have not slowed either, nor were they ever expected to. The unexpected events comprising this presidency have shown, by Obama’s reactions, his leadership concerns. These are not for the domestic public; he prefers to be dealing with the global issues. Foreign affairs is where his concentration and attention have been, giving only minor attention to domestic policies as he was drawn into them. Presidential leadership to him revolves around the global presidential image, domestic issues he leaves to the Congress. Common place preference not to be directly involved in such for too long is his standard. As state in the profiling of him, matters will be put into hands of others and only if they get out of hand will he take actions.

The U.S. Presidential office has from the beginning been the point on foreign affairs. But more importantly this office was meant to run the government, thus Congress was to vote on finances and leave matters for the presidential office to direct. This President has failed to take this path with Congress, lacking to motivate performance and clear up major issues, instead they still linger to this day. President Obama leadership concerns are for the world at large, paying the role of “global playboy” president. We have needed a domestic invested president to take control of Congress, the economy, energy and mostly employment.

The public has taken notice of this; the recent losses in publicity over Obama’s campaign are showing him sliding down. Even without this the Republicans are starting to vamp-up their campaigns thus gaining more attention as they do. Their numbers are on the rise then, even as this candidate’s numbers are falling. They have not consolidated nor are they even strong, but moving up while he is moving down is not helpful. Unless Obama starts to take domestic issues more seriously and soon, I do not see these numbers turning around. People on the street are saying he is all smiles, but the rest of us are not. We expected action, this happened only in the international affairs. When the “play-boy” gets back to issues directly affecting the domestic public, we may smile again. But if the past is any proof, we will not smile about this either.
