Millionaire Matchmaker Making a Match with Sensa

Patti Stanger is ecstatic to be joining the Sensa family. She claims that she ‘whips millionaires into shape for love’ on her hit show The Millionaire Matchmaker , and she wants to get everyone else on track toward their weight-loss goal.

Okay, that’s her story, and my guess is “she’s sticking to it.” Pardon me Patti, but I think there might be a little shinola mixed in with them there sprinkles.

Dr. Alan Hirsch developed the Sensa shaker diet, and according the “Livestrong. Com Blog” is a “weight loss program where a person shakes powder over food before eating.

The makers of Sensa claim that an individual can eat whatever they like as long as they shake Sensa over food first.

The idea is that works on a person’s sense of smell; your sense of smell tells the brain that you’re full faster than without the shaker. In other words, the Sensa sprinkles act like an appetite suppressant .

I smell a rat. But what do I know? I only tried it once (someone gave me a sample) and the only thing I got out of it was a fit of the giggles. It seemed silly sprinkling something on my food that was supposed to make me eat less, by suppressing my appetite. Or even if I ate the same amount as I did before the Sensa sprinkles, I would not gain any more weight. In short, I didn’t have to change my eating patterns at all to lose weight.

Bull. How could I loss weight without diet or exercise? The answer is I can’t.

And that could be said of most people. But getting back to this miraculous weight-loss program.

What are the five magical ingredients in the Sensa sprinkles?

It seems there are only five named ingredients other than milk, soy, natural and artificial flavors and they are listed on Livestrong.com

The first ingredient is something calledMaltodextrin. This is a family of products and not a single ingredient.

It’s any chain of glucose molecules between three and 19 units. “It is from corn, rice or potatoes and used to artificially sweeten a product without sugar.”

Tricalcium Phosphate

Tricalcium phosphate is a “tasteless odorless additive that has many uses” It marginally increases calcium in the formula, and its other uses include ‘a firming agent, and anti-caking device and a gastric antacid.”

Hmmm— can’t help wonder—Does the “firming agent” works with or on the gastric antacid?

Silica

Silica is another ingredient in the sprinkles. “Silica is a natural mineral made up of silicon dioxide and is used in food as a dehydrator.” It also helps things move without sticking together.

Oh joy, I’m glad they’re putting something in my sprinkles that will not stick in my craw; it’ll make my food go down my throat without clumping up.

And what would our sprinkles be without color? How about FD&C Yellow 5. (Sounds like the name of a Sci-Fi movie.)

The good new is the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has concluded that yellow 5 is safe for food and other agents. I don’t even want toknow what those ‘other agents’ might be.

And last but not least isCarmine.

Carmine is a natural food coloring that is non-toxic. Carmine is red and is made “according to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), from 70,000 female cochineal insects being killed to make a single pound of dye.” Although non-toxic, it can give allergic reactions .

When I sprinkled my salty flavored Sensa on my steak, did I think mourn the loss of those 70,000 female cochineal insects that were killed to get the pretty red color in the Sensa sprinkles? No, I mourned the fact that I ruined the taste of my steak with the Sensa sprinkles.

It all started with Patti seeing a photo of herself

Apparently, Patti saw a photo of herself on the red carpet and almost burst into tears. She’d gained almost 25 pounds (without noticing, she claims) and decided then and there that she would never look that way again.

One night on Shop NBC she saw Dayna Devoln selling Sensa, and she —a self-proclaimed tell-it-like-it is kind of gal, decided to give Sensa a try.

No diet worked for her because of her hectic schedule and so Patti started sprinkling her food with Sensa. (Patti works hard making all that money, and thanks to her involvement with Sensa, she’s going to be making a whole lot more!)

After two weeks, she noticed her body changing and the weight just ‘floating off’. She continued to eat what she wanted and two months later, she was 25 pounds lighter! She went from a size eight to a size four.

(I cannot believe that she achieved those results without a personal trainer or regular workout at a gym, watching her diet or limiting her portions.)

Perhaps the Sensa Sprinkles Diet works for some people. And maybe there are genuine weight loss benefits from sprinkling Sensa on your food, but I remain skeptical.

I’ve heard many stories from people who used it and claim that they didn’t get the results of the Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stranger, and the only thing ‘lighter’ was their wallet after ponying up $2l0.00 for a six month supply.

In any event, Patti was so thrilled about her ‘hotter than ever’ 49 year old body that she invites others to tell their stories. She says “don’t you dare tell me you can’t drop the extra baggage” and that it’s never too late to get the body you want.

At age 49, she’s hotter than ever and she loves Sensa. She invites other people to tell their “I LOVE SENSA” stories.

Thanks for the invite Patty, but I just did.
