Letter G Lesson Plan Ideas: 10 Snacks that Begin with a G

Are you preparing a kindergarten lesson plan on the letter G? Is G the letter of the week and you need snack ideas? Or, are you a home school parent searching for lesson plan ideas? Here are a few snacks that start with a G.

Grapenuts

One easy and healthy snack that begins with the letter G is grapenuts. Unfortunately, most of your students probably will not like them, but it is an excellent snack to try. You could also make grapenut cookies. One recipe to use is Oatmeal-Cranberry Grapenut cookies here.

Grapes

One common and easy preschool snack idea is grapes. Try green grapes for an extra “g” word. You could serve them with whipped cream as well, and even include grapenuts. Of course, explain that grapenuts do not come from grapes.

If you are feeling really creative, make “grape faces.” Slice the grapes in half. Using whipped cream, allow the children to make faces of the grapes on a paper plate.

Granola Bars

A very simple snack idea to try is granola bars. Most students will like these. You could also serve granola cereal.

Graham Crackers

Goldfish

Goldfish crackers would be an easy snack that your kids will like. You could serve these in addition to grapes.

Giraffe Shaped Cookies

This one isn’t the healthiest choice, but they are cute. You can buy giraffe shaped cookie cutters online and make giraffe shaped cookies. If you have a small preschool class, you might be able to decorate them together.

Green Beans

Another idea is to serve green beans. You could add some ranch dipping sauce. You could also serve freeze dried green bean snacks such as these here.

“G” Shaped Cookies

Another idea for is cookies shaped like the letter G. You could cover them in grape jelly instead of frosting.

Grape Milkshake

One creative and unusual idea is to serve grape milkshakes. Mix grapes, milk, sugar and vanilla ice cream in a blender. This isn’t very healthy and it is loaded with carbohydrates, but it is quite tasty.

Grapejuice Popsicles

If it is hot outside, you could offer popsicles made with grape juice. Most kids will enjoy these. You can find popsicle molds in the kitchen aisle at Wal-Mart and Target.
