Jerry Springer Returns to Cincinnati Rallies Against HB 194

The drizzling rain and damp weather did nothing to deter several hundred people who gathered at the Hamilton County Democratic Party headquarters to hear former Cincinnati Mayor, turned talk show house lead a rally against HB 194.

Jerry Springer casually mixed upon HB 194 rally goers and local politicians. Springer graciously posed for pictures and signed autographs as attendees were treated to hot dogs and hamburgers, as they watched President Obama’s job speech on a big screen TV.

HB 194 is commonly known as the voter suppression bill, because if it becomes law it will make it difficult for millions of people to vote. The people that will be most affected by HB 194 bill are seniors, students, the poor and African Americans.

In 2008 Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters alleged widespread voter fraud and subpoenaed the records of 600 people who voted in the county. Of the cases subpoenaed there was only one case of fraud.

At the conclusion of Obama’s job speech – Tim Burke, Chair of the Hamilton County Democratic Party was heckled as he shot off a list of judges running in the November election, but failed to mention anything about Juvenile court Judge Candidate Tracie Hunter. As Burke introduced Jerry Springer the crowd gave him a thunderous applaud.

Jerry Springer compared HB 194 to the shameful laws of the pass that denied women and blacks the right to vote. Springer called the HB 194 repulsive.

Although Springer has not lived in Cincinnati for many years he continues to financially support the Hamilton County Democratic party.
