If you’re a man who is big and tall then you know that finding a Halloween costume that looks good and fits your robust and large frame can be a bit of a challenge. Often your only option is to have something made which can be costly or sew it yourself which most guys don’t have the sewing skills to do. Fortunately for you there are some great looking big and tall Halloween costumes that you can make at home without ever picking up a needle and thread. To help you get started here are three of my favorite homemade Halloween costumes for big guys.
Homemade Halloween Costumes For Big and Tall Guys
Angry Butcher
This scary costume is perfect for a big guy and easy to make too. All you’ll need is a white bib style apron, red fabric paint, red make up, and a fake meat clever. To pull it off spread some red fabric paint on the white apron and the meat cleaver and allow to dry. Next, dress in a white shirt and pair of pants. Smear some red make up or fake blood on your face. Put on the blood stained apron and hold the meat claver in your hand to complete your look. Don’t have a white apron? Make your own by cutting a large sheet in a bib style apron shape. Use safety pins to attach a white fabric strip around the neck and a strip on either side of the waist to make apron ties.
Executioner
To pull off this big and tall costume all you’ll need is a black tee, black pants, black boots, a black pillowcase, a pair of scissors, red fabric paint and an axe. Since Executioner’s rarely wear shirt sleeves, preferring to show off their big biceps the first thing you’ll need to do is cut the sleeves off your black tee. Next cut the neck into a v shape to show off your broad chest. To create an executioners hood cut eye holes and a mouth hole in the black pillowcase. Be sure to try it on first and use chalk or something similar to mark where your eyes and mouth are. Add some red paint to the blade of the ax to complete the look. Dress all in black, put on your hood and you’re ready to chop off some heads.
Jolly Green Giant
Looking for a big and tall costume that’s not so scary? How about the Jolly Green Giant? To pull off this jolly costume all you’ll need is a long green tee, green long sleeve shirt, green pants or sweats, green make up, green colored hair spray, a pair of old shoes, green spray paint and a pair of scissors. To make the Green Giant’s shirt cut the neck of the tee shirt in a jagged v shape. Next, cut off both sleeves of the tee using jagged cuts. Finish by cutting jagged points in the bottom of the tee. If you don’t have green shoes use spray paint to paint an old pair of shoes green. After painting allow a few days to dry. On the day of the party dress in your green clothing and then use green make up to completely cover your face. Finish by spraying your hair with green colored hair spray.
