Freese Keep Cardinals Alive in Series in the 11th Inning

The St. Louis Cardinals live to see another day as they defeated the Texas Rangers last night 10-9 in a wild game six of the World Series at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.
Texas opened the scoring at the top of the first when Josh Hamilton drove in Ian Kinsler from third base on a RBI single.
St. Louis answered back in the bottom of the inning when Lance Berkman hit a two run homer to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead.
At the top of the second inning, Texas tied the game when Craig Gentry scored on a ground rule double by Kinsler.
At the top of the fourth inning, Mike Napoli drove in Nelson Cruz with a single down the first base line.
In the bottom of the inning, though, the Cardinals tied it up at three when Yadier Molina drove in Berkman on a routine ground out.
Texas took a 4-3 lead at the top of the fifth inning when Chris Young drove in Hamilton with a double.
The Cardinals tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ranger`s reliever, Alexi Ogando walked a run in with the bases loaded.
Texas took the lead again at the top of the seventh inning when both Adrian Beltre and Cruz hit back-to-back solo home runs. The Rangers increased their lead when Derek Holland scored on a single by Kinsler.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Cardinals cut the Ranger’s lead to two runs when Allen Craig hit a solo home run.
in the bottom of the nineth innining, with Texas’s closing pitcher, Neftali Feliz on the mound, two out, two on base. Cardinal’s David Freese hits a triple into right field to drive in Albert Pujols and Berkman to tie the game 7-7.
At the top of the tenth inning, Hamilton gives the Rangers back their two run lead by hitting a two run homer.
In the bottom of the inning, Ryan Theriot drove in Daniel Desclaso on a routine ground out to cut Texas lead to 9-8.
St. Louis tied the game when Berkman drove in Jon Jay with a single.
In the bottom of the 11th inning, David Freese hit a solo home run over the center field wall to give the Cardinals the win and push the series into a seventh game.
