This is a basic quest guide to help new players get through the Goss Mountain area. The last mission you completed should have been to head towards Goss Mountain to talk to the Soul guardian and you should also have a “Pet training” quest to reach level 25. Your next task will be to talk to Mayor Pierce to complete the quest “Visiting Goss Mountain quest”.
Pierce is located within the town of Cenana in a small little corner at the north part of the city. After you talk to him he will give you a new quest to deliver 1 ointment to Evans, and to also kill 31 fanged Puma. Evans is located on the south side of Cenana, if you look over the small wall near the Mayor you can actually see him below you.
Talk to Evan first because he is closer, and then head out to the fields heading back towards Rainbowfall forest to kill the fanged Pumas. The Pumas are your standard monster, so even though you need to kill 31 of them it should only take you maybe five minutes to dispatch them. After the mission is complete report back to Pierce to finish the quest.
Assisting the Inventor
Pierce will give you a new mission to collect 4 “Puma fur” and 4 “Puma fangs” from the long mane Pumas, you my have noticed the long manes back when you were fighting the fanged pumas. The drop rate is a bit slow, but they die fast. Once you have all of the items report your mission to Shears the garrison captain. Shears is inside the town of Cenana on the west side, just below the mayor. He will give you a new quest to collect the 8 “Unknown stones” from the Goss stone elders, which are located in the fields north of Cenana. The stone elders are a type of golem; you can actually AOE about four of them without any problems.
After all of the stones are recovered, return to town and talk to Ash to complete the quest, he isn’t far from the general merchant. Ash will then give you a new quest to kill 16 Goss stone demons and to recover 1 “Ruins fragment” from the “Midden heap”. The stone demons are located in the same places as the Goss stone elders. You should see the heaps scattered around the fields near the elders, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding them.
Make your way up north and talk to Nikola at “Nikola’s laboratory” to complete the quest. Nikola will give you a new mission to collect the stone heart from “Dingo” the stone king. Dingo is located back with the other golems up on a small hill, he isn’t a real boss and you should be able to kill him just like any other monster. When you make it back to Nikola to report the quest he will give you a new mission to talk to Tanley.
Hunting the Goss dragons
Tanley is located to the far west near the normadic merchant. When you talk to Tanley he will give you a quest to collect 6 heavy packages from the flying gorillas and 6 light packages from the bat wing gorilla. The gorilla monsters are located in the same field as Tanley, you can’t miss them. Sadly the drop rate is pretty slow so you might be there for awhile trying to gather the items. If by chance you can AOE several of them I would highly recommend it to speed the gathering process up, but they can do a lot of damage if you have a mob of more than five monsters.
After you have all 12 of the items report back to Tanley to finish the quest. Tanley will now give you a new mission to deliver some parts back to Nikola, and to also collect some Cactus fruits. The Cacti are in the same field with the flying gorilla, collect 12 of them and go report to Nikola. Nikola will give you a new mission to talk to the geologist named Ash, located back in Cenana.
When you get to town, Ash will give you a quest to kill 10 rock claw drakes, 10 rock scale drakes, and to also defeat the small boss monster Matthias. The drakes and Matthias are located at the far west part of the map near Baluga bay. Mathias is extremely easy to kill; it shouldn’t take you more then five minutes to complete this quest. When you are done talk to Pierce to finish the mission.
Venturing to Shale cavern
Pierce will now give you a quest to defeat 1 Gun-Rx79 and 1 Robo Vto80 located within Shale cavern. The dungeons will slowly get more complex as you progress through the game, so come prepared. This dungeon is just as short as all the other ones, but you will still need a party because it is very hard. The first boss you come across, Gun-Rx79, will die and summon about four monsters to spawn behind you, so be ready for it. The robots he summons can be quite hard, so only fight one at a time, otherwise you may die trying to fight two or more monsters at the same time.
Both the bosses in the dungeon are weak against lightning magic and blunt strike attacks. And they both have a massive AOE attacks, keep your DPS and healers out of their summoning circles so that they don’t die.
The next boss Robo Vto80, is just as hard as Gun-Rx79. He has a AOE stun attack that will daze you for a few seconds, another attack that disables your skills, have your healer use purifying wind to remove the debuffs. If you break the bosses and keep your healers back, you should be able to take both monsters down without any problems. Report to Shale cavern Nikola to complete the quest, he is located at the end of the dungeon. Shale Nikola will give you a new quest to go back to the town of Cenana to summon a giant robot. Run back to town and click the “control” icon while standing in front of Mayor Pierce to summon the robot. Once the robot is summoned, talk to the Mayor to complete the quest.
Meeting the Golden Claw gang
Mayor Pierce will ask you to report all of your progress to Nikola back at his laboratory. Before you leave the town of Cenana, go and talk to Bryson the blacksmith. He has a level 22 quest for you to collect 6 of the stone claw puma’s fangs and to collect 6 teeth from the stone tooth puma. Both monsters are located up north near Nikola’s lab, which was exactly where you will be heading. When you talk to Nikola it will not only complete the quest but will also give you the new title “Aid of scholars” which gives you +9 intelligence points.
While you are still in the area finish Bryson’s mission to collect the claws. After you obtain all of the Stone puma items return to town to complete Bryson’s quest. He will now give you a mission to deliver a bag to Shears, so go talk to Shears to complete the quest. Shears will give you a mission to defeat 10 golden claw soldiers, mages, and to collect the action plans from the golden claw assassin, a total of 21 monsters. They are all located at the far North West part of the map.
Eroda cave
After you collect the plans and kill all of the monsters report back to Shears to complete the quest. Shears will give you another quest to kill Janus and Wynstelle. They are located up north near Eroda cave. Both Janus and Wynstelle are extremely easy to kill, you should be able to defeat them within a matter of seconds. After they are dead report back to Shears to complete the quest. Shears will ask you to now talk to the monster hunter Evans to report all of your progress.
Evans will give you a quest to go inside of Eroda dungeon to kill the boss monster Salvio. Boss monster Salvio is extremely hard with a large AOE attack that does massive damage. He also has a debuff where if you attack him you will deal damage back to yourself. He is weak against lightning and striking attacks so make sure to break him so that it will stun him for a few seconds. You will need to use a warrior for this battle so that you can dash stun him before he can complete his AOE attack. Make sure to also watch out for the debuff or else you will kill yourself. If he puts the debuff on you, just run around without attacking him for a few seconds until the debuff wears off.
With this battle it will take a lot of team work between the warrior and the healer in order to be victorious. When you finally defeat Salvio go back and talk to Shears in the cave, you should have passed him on your way to the boss. Shears will give you a new quest to kill the dark dragon Jiro, located a bit deeper into the cave…
Leaving Goss Mountain
The final boss Jiro is guarded by about four Cave dragons. The cave dragons are pretty tough, so take them out one by one before moving forward. The boss monster Jiro is a lot easier than Salvio and he only has a basic AOE attack. He is weak against slashing attacks and nature, if you break him he dies within a few hits.
After he is dead return to town and talk to Mayor Pierce to complete the quest. After you finish the quest you should now be strong enough to head over to Beluga bay. If you have also made it to level 25 don’t forget to buy the pet training book from the nomadic merchants, they are on the road leading to the next area. Go talk to the Soul guardian in Beluga bay to begin the new set of missions. To finish the level 25 pet training quest, talk to Nelle the garrison sniper, she is standing at the south entrance of the Beluga bay harbor.
