Our baby girl is almost ten months old and our pediatrician spoke with us about including vitamins into her diet, since she is still building her immune system. One of the foods that we like to feed our baby for breakfast is the Earth’s Best Blueberry Banana Brown Rice Yogurt. This is one of the Earth’s Best “Wholesome Grains” foods, and is a “2nd” food that can be fed to babies six months of age and up. Some six month old babies still don’t have any teeth, but this food is very smooth and the consistency of pudding, so it’s easy for a baby to eat even without teeth as no chewing is required.
Earth’s Best Blueberry Banana Brown Rice Yogurt is packaged in a glass container, which I believe is a healthy way to store food. I made the switch from plastic food containers to glass containers a long time ago because I don’t want any plastics leeching into my foods.
The glass container holds four ounces, and it has the pop up style lid which lets me know if the container has been compromised or not. When the food is properly sealed the center of the lid is indented. As soon as the seal is broken the center pops up and you will hear a loud popping sound as you unscrew it.
The label states that this flavor has 18 mg of DHA, 7 grams of whole grains, 100% of the daily value of vitamin C, 4% vitamin A, 2% iron, 20% of the daily value of calcium and 7% protein. It is labeled USDA organic, meaning it was grown without the use of pesticides or herbicides. It is also free of artificial sweeteners, flavors, and has no added salt or sugar.
Earth’s Best Blueberry Banana Brown Rice Yogurt smells and tastes predominantly like blueberries. It contains only organic ingredients, even the grains and yogurt are organic! The 4 ounce serving contains 110 calories, 1 gram of fat, 10 milligrams of sodium, 24 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 14 grams of sugars, and 1 gram of protein.
