Kirtsy.com gave me this fabulous idea that would make a great gift for a new parent. This project is even sweet for a little girl’s bedroom, or a teenager can use some rockin’ colors to suit their own style. I simplified this project by using a wire hanger, fishing wire, glue, ribbon, scissors and a pin. Most paint chip cards are not double-sided so cut out some circles and glue them together to make them so. Using a scrapbook punch would make this job much faster. Use the pin to punch a hole in each circle and tie the circles on the fishing wire. Cut off the hook on the hanger and twist the ends together to form a circle. You can also use an embroidery hoop. Tie the strings in different lengths on the hanger and decorate with ribbons.

Crazy Aunt Lindsey’s blog inspired me to create math problems and high frequency words practice for the hands-on student. My 8-year-old wouldn’t leave this project alone while I created it. She loves to play “teacher” with the newest learning tools.

All you need is some pretty stickers or stamps and small ribbon. Cut out the shape you want for a bookmark, add a hole and ribbon and you’ve got yourself a stylish bookmark for your newest favorite book.

Wedding favors & “Just Moved” postcards (pictured)

For those warm outdoor weddings, cut the paint chip cards in thirds and tape together in the shape of a fan. Print out a “wedding thank you” on a clear label so your guests can keep cool during your vows. Use the colors of the wedding or colors of the bride and groom’s new house. The cards would also work great for the couple’s new address as a “Just Moved” postcard.

Craft possibilities are endless with paint chip cards. Get beyond plain colored construction paper and get busy with the hardware store’s coolest craft item ever.

Happy crafting!
