Observe I recommend for an entire day keep track of everything that you do this will reveal whats causing you to loose time in your day. Take notes of anything that could be changed to save time. How long you’ve spent on your way to work? How much emailing you did, how much messaging and web browsing have you done? The key to this is you have to be brutally honest on your notes. Remember these are your notes, so there’s no reason to change a few numbers around.

Plan for success You must set up a list which contains all your work that must be completed while doing this prioritize the most important to least important. This would usually be based on closest to furthest deadlines after you’ve finished set a goal for the amount of work you want to get done each day. This can also be as detailed as every hour what I personally do is have to list for “what must be done” and another for “what I wanted to get done” this will make sure that I don’t run into any sudden deadlines.

The power of a simple no Often your coworkers will ask for help but as much as you’d like to be a helpful coworker. You have to follow your daily assignment goals don’t be afraid to politely object coworkers. Especially when you’re behind on task that you must finish first. They will respect your objection and look for others who are less behind.

Staying focused Does it seem like the closer your deadlines the more distracted you are? The key to this is that you must take away everything that takes your attention away from finishing the task at hand. This can be any form of social media to day dreaming to procrastinating it often sneaks up on you! The trick is to remind yourself that you have something important to finish.

Prioritizing If you’ve got assignments that your able to pass on to another coworker for help. This is a option that you should consider this will relieve some of the stress on your plate for a few assignments. Co-workers are always willing to help in time of need the trick is to not be afraid to ask.

One at a time “its better to be good at one thing, then to do bad at a lot of things” yes I am talking about multitasking. When you multitask, much of your focus is on multiple things. Which will cause you to forget a lot of details an example of this could be when your boss is giving the room a speech and your multitasking with e-mails. You will not remember everything word for word this. This is bad because it could have been a important lecture for details on up and coming assignments. which can instantly have a negative impact on you. Key is to slow down everything around you and focus on one thing at a time. Multitasking is most biggest distraction that can occur in anytime your trying to get things done.

Conclusion All too often people get overly stressed because of work-related things and the only way to combat this is with good time management skills. Using the above techniques you should be able to manage your time better to be more productive with less time and significantly lower your stress. It wont feel like your task are piling up anymore.
