Planning Methods

Planning Methods

I will be venturing in a new career field shortly and will need to do a lot of research toward achieving my goals. This class so far is teaching us that in order to begin any new business we have to do research in order to not only be successful but to have all of information in front of us to carry out our new goals when starting a new business plan. Having a business plan does require research. Planning methods can range from marketing methods to a business strategy plan. With the new business I will be starting I will need a good marketing plan in order to be successful, I will start with doing research on the field I am going in which is Web Services and E-Book formatting.

First I will start by researching

Company Analysis Plan on what my goals will be for my new business.

· Focus · Culture · Strengths · Weakness · I will have to research what my competition will be in the area that I am working in.

Second Market Strategy

· Brand Name · Quality · Scope Of My Services · Pricing

All of these will help me to get my business started, by learning ways in which to do this I believe will help me set my business in a good direction.

Research Goals

For my business at this point I will be looking into Website goals, regarding traffic to my companies’ site. Supporting short-term goals are to research and purchase web traffic analysis software to better pinpoint current traffic trends (Williams, n.d, p. 1), Another example of my short-term goal is to select a medium for advertising my site other than the Web, this could be placing an ad on our local radio station and placing ads in newspapers, where the ad can become a coupon that can be used for my services. I also will want to have the best customer service to provide to my customers. This could include customer feedback by surveys, questionnaire’s and offering free products or discounts for customers.

Management Goals

Internal business plan is estimating all of my fixed costs and variable cost that will be associated with my business. It will then be known what minimum amount of gross profit is necessary to offset operating expenses before any additional profit is made by the business (“,” n/d, p. 1). All of this will require research in my field of interest in order to maintain and manage the business correctly. I want to be able a good standing within my community so that when they are in need of my services they will know that they can depend on me for great customer service at a reasonable price.
