My Morning Glories

I grow morning glories every year,
I love it so when they appear.
And start to climb upon the fence,
This means that summer will commence.

I always buy the bright blue seeds,
It symbolizes summer deeds.
I tie some string for the little vines,
To help them with their yearly climb.

Sometimes the vines latch onto the tree
Branches and I’m amazed to see.
The morning glories way up high,
With the dogwood blossoms nigh.

I sit outside in the early day,
Enjoying my coffee and the month of May.
I see the morning glories open,
And my spirit’s never broken.
