The Jean Bonnet Tavern in Bedford, PA, is a great piece of Pennsylvania History, in fact this building that was built in the 1700’s, was placed on the esteemed National Register of Historic Places in the 1970’s. In it’s early years it was used as a place of refuge or rest for numerous settlers and travelers as they made their way by. It was even used as a camp site where soldiers ordered by President George Washington stayed, as well as folks involved in the Whiskey Rebellion, which was caused by an excise tax that was placed on whiskey, to help fund the national debt..

The Jean Bonnet Tavern has guest rooms for you to stay in, each with their own private bath. The building also has a full featured restaurant that serves some very tasty meals. The Jean Bonnet Cavern Shoppe is located inside a log cabin that was originally buit in the late 1700’s, and it’s been open to the public since 2006.
