A Review of Classic Kitchen Deluxe Shells & Cheese Dinner

I do love mac and cheese and I also love cooking with it. I can make so many different meals and dishes with this product. When I came across a box of Classic Kitchen Deluxe Shells & Cheese Dinner in my local Dollar Tree store, I was just thrilled. The low price was right. I decided to buy these shells and cheese, try them out and write a product review all about my experience with them. Here is what I discovered!

Yes, one box of Classic Kitchen Deluxe Shells & Cheese Dinner costs only one dollar. This dish has three servings in it, so that is a very food budget friendly price, in my opinion. This meal is made with real cheddar cheese. It comes with shells pasta and cheese sauce. All that is needed to make this dish is water and heat. Fabulous. It has lots of protein and calcium in it. Wonderful! I could not wait to taste this meal.

The preparation is easy and fast. I boiled water, added the shells and cooked for twelve minutes, stirring occasionally. I then drained and poured into a large bowl. The cheese sauce comes in a pouch and I only had to cut it open and squeeze onto the pasta and stir. That is it! I tasted this dish and it is good. However, do not expect Kraft’s signature cheesy taste in this product. It is very cheesy, but there are better mac and shells dishes out there. Velveeta and Kraft do taste better than this one, I admit. But, for only one dollar, this dish saves me money and it works very well with casseroles, I discovered. For instance, I can add tuna to this meal, along with mixed canned veggies and have a complete dinner in a jiffy. I also like adding chopped ham to it. I can make a quick dinner in a flash with this one and for just a few dollars.

I rate Classic Kitchen Deluxe Shells & Cheese Dinner three stars out of five stars. I will be buying it again. No, it is not the best shells and cheese, but it is very tasty. Lots of creamy cheese sauce and tender shells. One serving has 298 calories in it. 100 of those calories come from fat. One serving has 10 grams of total fat, 3 grams of saturated fat, 3 grams of trans fat, just 6 mg’s of cholesterol, 868 mg’s of sodium, 40 mg’s of total carbs, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 7 grams of sugars and 10 grams of protein. This product does contain soy, wheat and milk ingredients.

I loved trying Classic Kitchen Deluxe Shells & Cheese Dinner and writing this product review about it. It is very hearty, filling and affordable. The addition of seafood, ham, tuna or chicken makes this a fun meal to serve. It also makes a nice side dish for hot dogs, hamburgers, ham, sandwiches, corn dogs or fish. This one is a winner because of it’s price. The Classic Kitchen brand also has deluxe mac and cheese, too.
