A: cigarettes contain a highly addictive drug:nicotine. the addiction effect varies from person to person. my addiction almost cost me my life. my father died of tobacco abuse having lung cancer. that did not stop me. i stopped smoking during two pregnancies and foolishly resumed my addiction after my children were born. oh, i should mention my first baby was born early and i could not bring him home for the hospital for almost a month. that pregnancy was one that i smoked through. it is difficult to develop an addiction like this. when you start, it may be for reasons of fitting in or mistakenly thinking there is some pleasure in smoking. at first you may cough or get light headed.the taste is unpleasant. you have to get past that to form your addiction. then the only good thing you feel is a fix for the monkey on your back. the taste and smell may not offend you but it absolutey stinks to non smokers. then you start planning you life around it; i.e., do i have enough cigs to last until morning. can i make it to my smoke break. can i afford my next pack. deciding which friends you can visit because most people dont allow smoking in their houses. what kind of job can i take that allows smoke breaks and will excuse me from work because smokers get sick easier and keep colds longer. after a while people will start looking at you when you cough in public while dragging on your constant cigarette. tobacco is a dangerous, addictive drug that because big money tobacco company and government have a very productive (for them) enterprise that we will see prices rise to consumers, but don’t look for this to become regulated any more than it is or made illegal. look for our health care costs rise due to smoking related illness and insurance cost to rise.look for children to see that its “ok” to smoke while you pollute their lungs while smoking while they are presnet. then observe people like me who smoke for 40 years and dont stop untill they happen to get lung cancer who are only a shadow of what they could have been had they not started in the first place. people like me who are oxygen dependent for the remainder of their shortened life. i knew all this while contunued to self destruct by smoking and being a slave to my addiction.. too bad i did not know it before i started. my zealous diatribe ends here. DONT START!!!!!!!

How can an 18 year old be mature enough to volunteer for war but not mature enough to buy a pack of ciggaretts?

Q: An 18 year old can legally ruin their reputation and life by making appearing in porn movies. Let us get real. many 21 year olds are not mature enough to decide to appear in porn moviesWar is very damaging to the mind and body but yet tobacco is too dangerous to allow a person under 21 to smoke.Should not it be illegal for an 18 year old to appear in a porn movie? They are not mature enough to make a life devastating choice like that.

A: I don’t know where you are from, but every state I’ve lived in (NY, CT, KS), 18 year olds can buy cigarettes, vote, and, like you said, do porn and volunteer or get drafted into the army. Being able to make a decision to appear in porn films is no decision for an 18 year old to make. You’re right about war. There have been many suicides during the course of the USA war with Iraq (or whatever it is – Operation Iraqi Freedom) and we are in a sorry place in this particular area. Young kids are just getting slaughtered, their and their families lives destroyed.

A: I totally agree with you. That health care plan of hers is outrageous. Unnecessary and expensive! This country would go bankrupt if that plan was enforced. And she wants to take away many rights – cigarettes, guns, speech, etc. However, I think these are some of the reasons why people like her:Many women like her because there has never been a female president before. Women would like to make a statement. There’s never been a First Man (ha ha, I’d like to see Bill’s award winning casserole. That would be new).Many Mexicans like her because she supports illegals more than the Conservatives.Many poorer people like her because she would give them much much much more (even though they don’t need it). She would suck the middle and upper class dry in the process though.
