Q: I’ve asked this question before and didn’t really get any good answers. So here goes again: I have my cannabis card so I smoke weed for a legitimate reason but I also wanna donate. I know now that you can donate blood if you smoke, just dont go in high, but I was wondering if it was different for platelets/plasma.

A: I would almost guarantee that smoking weed will not have an effect on whether you can donate or not. I used to donate and I’ve seen some of the people that donate. Depending on your weight, you typically make $20-30 per session. However for first time donors you make a bit more the second session because they want you to come back because the first donation is useless without a second. you can go twice a week, its a good way to make extra beer money 🙂
