Wisdom teeth question?? PLEASE HELP!?
Q: I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out 4 days ago (Thursday, and today is now Monday). I just went in today for a followup appt. and he said everything looks great and gave me the irrigation-syringe-device along with sheet of paper which hardly describes how to use it. I came home and had mini oreos (dipped in milk first so they were soft) and was able to swallow them, but you know how they are and black bits always get stuck in your teeth. I brushed/swished carefully w/ salt water but I noticed that the right side was still a little dark, so I tried out the “irrigation” device. When I used it, I noticed it had disloged something that looks like skin (it might be the stiches?). W/ the tip of the device I tried to move it back to where I thought it was, and then I noticed the dark getting bigger, and I saw a hole. Still not sure if the dark is from the hole or the oreos. It then started bleeding a little and now it looks different from the other side. What did I do?!?!?? help please!
A: Dont worry about it. Stitches/extra skin/stuff you didnt realize was caught in there comes out of your suture area a lot. Keep it irrigated and you should be fine. If it starts to get unusually sore then get it checked out because you could get a dry socket or an infection…but most likley it will be fine.
